and i don't know if its me looking for things but i have also noticed the car seems more eager to go and i seem to have lost a flat spot i had between 2400-2600rpm, it just seems that little bit quicker:confused:

glad you are happy with it mate...despite it being a pain in the ass

the "flat spot" you mention is a common issue, due to the pipe onto the inlet manifold. It is very squashed, and under boost (especially on cars with high mileage) is very prone to collapsing as it is a very soft silicon hose

when I replaced my whole intake pipe with a custom setup the "hesitation" and sometimes flat spot was instantly improved/gone and I noticed quite a big difference

It looks good too:)

what is next on the list - FMIC? you can do this for about £200 from an intercooler and pipework bought off Ebay, which will work just as fine, if all you are after is just a remap next

**and tidy up that dam HID ballast too** ;)

can't make my mind up for next mod

so many things yet not enough cash to get everything at the same time (which i would love)

as for the HID's i actually cut the cable ties to move the ballast out of the way to get the hose off and by the time i fitted the kit i just couldn't be bothered an used more cable ties
guilty:whistle:

engine bay tidy up (start of!)

got off my harse last night and a bit of today to start tidying the engine bay up.

started by doing the engine cover, just mixed a bit of hot soapy water with some elbow grease and this is the result

the bit of smudging on the lettering will be got off obviously and a new SEAT emblem badge will be put on, its just that my ideas usually come together after a couple of cold ones! :drunk:

i'll try and get the rest done as and when (including HID ballasts mr bennett:p) but what with work all week it'll take a smidging of time.
Although the missus wants to go to Costa Sel Skeggy next weekend, i might send her out while i get things done:whistle:

in some of the pics the paintwork looks a bit flat but this is due to the colour of the car and sunlight reflection, under normal light its red, bright light it looks pink and i even got a bit of orange in there (no it wasn't resprayed by Bodgit and Scarper, its still standard)
but needless to say after a hard days scrubbing it was off to the pub for a few cold 'uns

Colour's the same as mine, named after a flower if I remember rightly.

Looks nice, I had to ditch the multispoke alloys though, never been a big fan.

On the list of upgrades maybe..?

Here's a few photos so you can see the alloys, I like how the lettering on the wheels matches the colour of the car!

i absolutly hate the wheels, whoever design them wheels to go on a Leon wants :rifle:

i think i'll probably end up with some bigger VAG wheels at some point but i also want it lowering at the same time, i don't like the 4x4 look, but families and houses don't come cheap (neither does running a 1.8t 40 miles a day, 5/6 days a week ) so its spare change in the piggy bank for my mods

anyway its nice to know i'm not the only one with this colour, can't say i've seen any others but i'm sure they are out there!

right then, being as i've my new exhaust on 2 weeks now i thought i'd better post an update here.
As some of you may know i was going for a Milltek catback system but due to my incompitance of remembering asking the place where i'd bought the car from just to weld the loose bracket back on as i was going to get a new one, i became desperate after the exhaust tried to detatch itself so with a Milltek taking around 3 weeks to get done i had to go custom which some of you advised against but being a test dummy type of person i went for it.
Although i can't compare it against exhuasts of other manufacturers, i can confirm there definatley feels like a performance increase, should be rolling roaded soon hopefully, build and fitment quality is top notch (might have got a bloke fitting mine who and his wicked way the night before from some stories i've read:cartman:) but although i asked for it to be fairly quiet at low speeds and to give a nice roar once opened up i found it was actually a tad too loud especially at 2am coming out of the garage to go to work!
so back it went yesterday to be silenced a bit more F.O.C. and now has a much better noise and now having been run in, on overrun there is a nice rumble/spitting noise and if i hold the revs right i can get it to pop on gear change. Sports cat and downpipe next surely?
Oh BTW i forgot to mention its a 6"x4" oval, i'm not copying LCR's i just like the classic "goes with anything" shape, i nearly picked a sort of oval that matched the shape of the rear of the car and i was all set to get that done when the guy at the shop said "we sell quite a few of those VXR replicas"
pics will be posted soon as the missus has took the camera to our neices 1st birthday which is apparently more important than a shiny stainless steel exhaust:whistle:

heres a couple of pics of the exhaust then, also forgot to mention above that its a 2.5" bore from cat back.
Tailpipe is a bit (lot) dirty as i've not had chance to wash the car since fitting it and i ain't going through no 5 minute car wash, by hand only!

I've just noticed that TBH
Its the first time i've got so low, but theres one thing...

...it doesn't knock on the bumper :cartman:

I might pop down this week sometime and get them to take it up a bit, I think i've struck lucky for a custom place as they seem to be bending over backwards to get it spot on for me

I've also noticed it looks like its sticking out a bit much but this IS the angle of the pics

MOT pass, 2nd year in a row

Just a quick note to say my car passed it's MOT 1st time for 2 years in a row since I've owned it, well just! Advisories on front tyres and front discs, so they're getting done while I'm off work this week.
Not bad for a 154,000 miler:clap:

Well done fella!

My old girl is 9, and passed every MOT so far apart from the last one (balljoint let her down).... not bad for the 7 years I've had her! She's over 105k miles now, so not quite in the same league as your 154k lol :)

Just a quick note to say I've decided to sell her.

All I can say is what a fantastic car It's been over the past 2 years, no major problems and never let me down in the slightest.
The main reason behind selling is I can't justify nigh on £250 a month of my own money on fuel, if I was paid expenses I would keep it, another is that we've taken up camping so I ideally need a diesel estate, the good news is I'm more than likely staying VAG, either a Passat or A4, I'll also stay on SCN as its been a brilliant, helpful, and sometimes piss funny forum and I'll be posting pics of the new shed as soon as i find one.
