Dash Lights Flashing and Beeping

Hi,
I am hoping that someone can help me with what I assume is some sort of electrics problem.

I have an 03 seat leon. Every couple of months upon switching off the car engine, all the lights on the dash start flashing and a loud beeping sound commences.

The easiest way to understand what I am describing is to see it! So please see the following video which I took the last time it happened (For some i am not able to post url's on this forum so please type www dot youtube before the following link!):

Starting the engine seems to stop the flashing and beeping. Switching on the lights stops the beeping.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this problem?

Hey, unfortunatly not. I have put my post on a number of forums so if I get a response on one of them I will re post it here.

It has been happening to mine for a couple of years, but seems to happen for a day or two in a row and then not for a few months!
 
Does anyone out there know the answer to this prob???

Mine is doing it simply dont know how to solve

Had it scanned a few months ago and nothing. Did have leaking doors but managed to fix myself thanks to the great guys on this forum!!

Had a load of rain the other day and this has now come back but the floors are now complety dry as far as I am aware.

Please tell me more about the multi plug!!!

Someone said that you can take a fuse out and it will only reset the clocks,trip but will obviously keep mileage. Any ideas what fuse that might be?
 
I checked the fusebox on my new 2002 mk1 180BHP and FUSE 15 has been removed. I put in 5A and found that I am also the owner of a disco dash. I only replaced the fuse while trying to solve the permanently on dim dash light problem mentioned by a few others.

The guy that solved his dim dash light found dry joints on the circuit behind the dash cluster.

I want to try that but part of me says just leave it. I can cope without the clock and trip computer as long the dim dash lights wont drain my battery and cause immobiliser or radio code issues. I don't have the radio code so don't want a flat battery!

I also stopped the water leaking through the doors but I fear it was the leak under the windscreen area that has been causing my disco dash.
 
Earth strap from the battery to chassis leg, take battery out and clean and greese the fixing point on chassis leg, clean the eyelets on the wire well too. This is what the dealer did for me and it worked
 
I checked all the water issues and everything was dry. SERE sorted it out, no fault even on their computer either.
