Just a quick one guys, should the cig lighter be illuminated? I have noticed that mine isn't, either with the ignition on or with the lights on? If it should be does anyone know which fuse??? Thanks in advance

yea it should light up,
check the fuse panel which is on the drivers side under a flap. When you open the door its on the inside of dash, near the vent (quite hard to explain buts its obvious!)
check in the manual which fuse holds the ciggerate lighter...you may find few other things are linked to this fuse as well...

Thanks for the reply guys, I located the fuse box and checked the fuse for cig lighter, think it's 40? ish lol However, what I should have said was the cig lighter itself still works so could it just be a blown bulb? Also another question, should the little compartement under the heater controlls in the centre console light up red?

what the little cubby hole behind the ashtry? mine doesnt....but would look good if it did

Yeh thats the one mate!!! I does in my sisters beetle, just a really gentle blue light! So was thinking if it didn't have it on the beeza to do something similar!!! Oh well, if it's just a bulb can't be bothered lol, never use it anyway!lol
mine dont light up,and i dint see a buld when i had that area apart so i dont think it does light up

My cig lighter doesn't light up
I've got red lights in the cubby behind the ashtray and the storage compartment under the stereo though

^^^^^Some do and some don't, it depends on the year of the car
When I had my old mk4 the cig lighter was not illuminated so I fitted a lighter from a mk3 and wired it up to the traction control button illumination wire. Then I fitted a glove box light and a boot light too.
