I have a Viofo A119, its perfect cheap dashcam.

Bought it on ebay.

The A119 'Wedge' shape cam is a great little thing. Had one in my original mk3. Sticks straight o windscreen, and can be mounted in such a way as to be VERY discreet.

I would have got another one for my mk3 facelift, but cos I now have the high beam assist lane assist camera, the mirror housing is much larger, and the A119 is no good for that because the rear mirror unit gets in the way.

Had a Garmin 55 - it packed up after 40 days. Got a nextbase in February, you can get a ‘stealth’ sticker mount for it from eBay. It’s nowhere near as 'hidden' as the a119 was, but there’s not much I can do about that.

Wanted a mobius really, but the plan was to mount it on its side up against the 'bulge' that sits where the rear view mirror joins the front assist gubbins. The trouble is, the only place that sold 90-degree rotated mobius lenses that I could find at the time was in the USA, and costs were pushing £180 for the whole thing, it just seemed like too much hassle.

I periodically check AliExpress to see if anyone has made an 'oem' style fitment one. No joy yet but there are some for the Golf which are designed to be hidden inside the rear view mirror trim itself, which is really neat :)

I've just fitted a NextBase 312 to my Cupra. I haven't hardwired it as I used the cigarette lighter by the central armrest, and managed to hide all the cabling under the trim / door seals.

Good mention,
viofo gives the quality of premium dashcam on budget. Capacitor for hot weather, gps inbuilt on camera mount dock.. amazing video at low light as good as 500$ blackvue.

Another good point is that it supports the standard format for recording ( the folder structure, file names, coordinates log in separate file etc.) Which is good because you can use any generic gps viewer to view the videos.

Where garmin uses its proprietary format.
