with your car being on that milage I'd say either service it yourself and spend the same money and cover more areas or go to a good independantr specialist, possibly westec (was more than happy with the service they did on my car) but also consider places like justvw in barry/sully

what you've got to ask yourself is will you reclaim the extra money that a full dealer service cost you when you come to sell the car, personally i doubt it

I cant be bothered to service it myself, its not worth the hassle anymore. It would prob be westec if independant.

what sort of hassle are you thinking? maybe do the obvious youself then like fuel filter, plugs, oil and filter and leave the other jobs to the specialists?

Plugs were done with the remap (~2K), toasted the originals. How much did westec charge Dave?

£160 from memory for a anual service (so im guessing just a oil/possibly plug change and brake fluid as it was nearly 2 years old.

whens the nitrous coming now then? ;) just for reference, seat in cardiff wanted around the 170 mark just to change the oil! :(

White dove can suck my hairy nut sack, thats one place I really wouldnt trust with my car. Nitrous, when I strip some more bits from my fiesta :)

90k service on your car is just the oil and oil filter replaced.
Lights , levels , checks and lube.
So the majority of it is purly labour.
The only think you could not do is stamp the book.

My cupra is 1k off its 90k service. Its been serviced by the same Seat dealership since it was new.

Would you goto an independant or stick with the dealer?

Mine's due for 70k next week, I was starting to think I might have one of the highest mileage Mk3's... do you know of any higher than 90K?

It's being serviced at a dealer, they quoted £120 in Oxford (rose hill) or £170 in Newbury.. I know which I prefer. I'd rather take it to a VW specialist but don't really know of any near Oxford.

anyone know how much cambelt change is at a seat dealer?

at 60k ill be looking at getting a new cambelt, plugs, oil an filter, fuel filter...not really sure of anything else that needs doing, all my history was screwed up when i bought the car...so nothing has really kept to seats recomendations

disks an pads have less than 3k on them as well as current oil

will new fluids help clutch slippage anyone know?

No
Clutch slippage is clutch slippage.
No oil can help you there I am afraid.
That is hands in pocket could help though.
But only if you have a good credit card hidden away in there.
Sorry
80k the plugs would be due with the air filter , and fueld filter.
Pollon filter every 20k

I had all these questions when i last got mine serviced but thought it was ok to go with a VW specialist now its out of Warranty so i had my 50,000 mile service done by two VW specialists who used to work at Colbournes but set up business on their own, they stamped my book still (they have done all my families cars for years)

Ill get them to do my 60,000 mile service as well (cambelt one) as they wont charge as much as SEAT, ill make sure my book is still stamped though
