At last, I've gone for the Evoms with the heatshield. I've been trying to decide between that and the ceramic Revo for the past two weeks and I just couldn't justify the extra £££'s for such a minimal difference in performance of the Revo.

Hope I don't regret my choice...wouldn't be the first time:rolleyes:

I'm in exactly the same boat

Saw an evoms for a mint price on mk5gti forum...but I had me heart set on the revo, so I left it

Now I think I regret it cos I heard an evoms the other day as a passenger and it sounded mint

Big eck has done separate runs with evoms and revo on the same rollers and he got better figures with the revo, but it is difficult to get a proper back to back comparison!

I think I'll always wonder what the Revo is like until I go in a car with one. Next it's tyres, then Sportlines, then stage 1 and finally BCS downpipe, sports cat and powervalve. That should satisfy my needs for at least a couple of months ;)

You won't regret getting the Evoms.
It's a very good bit of kit I love the noise.
You'll notice gains in power as soon as you fit it, it pulls all the way to the redline and it makes you realise how restrictive the standard intake is.

Yeah, I read that. Just need to get the zorst sorted now, possibly the most restrictive parts on the car.

The REVO intake for one is A LOT louder

Again, that was another reason (apart from cost) I opted for the Evom. The Revo looks to be a stunning piece of kit but I think it would be too loud and become annoying for me.

I run a Evoms kit with a much bigger cone filter, maybe 40% bigger and it's seriously loud.

You can't use 2 different cars for real comparison, no same car makes the same power. Back to back is the real way to test. It would be interesting to see how my setup performs vs revo.

Totally agree!
Was just perfect for my map.

is the revo intake really a lot louder than the evoms?

A friend of mine had the evoms and he said it was really loud, so if the revo is even louder it must make a lot of noise.

I currently have the a slightly modified volant air intake which I personally think makes quite a lot of noise and it is probably a litlle quieter than the evoms.

I would like the inside of my car to be as quiet as possible but I have realised that if you have an intake you will also have darth vader sitting next to you accompanied bu a turkey when the forge valve goes off....

Been out in a k1 today with revo intake. I can assure you mine is alot louder, seems the bigger filter makes a difference.

Believe me. We went out in both cars today and mine is louder, like I say it's running a massive filter and the filters do make a difference in sound.

Im not disagreeing with you i just said the ocne makes a difference. But im saying on standard set ups of both the REVO is a lot lot louder
