Hello,

I have a 225 BHP LCR, ovni yellow. I was considering selling it and buying a new Cupra. However, a close friend of mine has offered to sell me his almost brand new white Mercedes Sport Coupe 350 with AMG body kit for the same amount I would pay for a new Cupra. His car has only 1000 (one thousand!!!) Km on the clock. The reason he is selling it is that he just decided he wants a new C Class Mercedes sedan.

So my choices are:
- Keep my current LCR
- Go for the new Cupra, or
- Get the Sport Coupe 350 for the same amount of money as the new Cupra.

All your comments are welcome....

As much as i love the Leon its a Merc for me no question

That's precisely the reason why I am still hesitating... :) I think of myself as too young to drive a Mercedes... -- I am 38, but 22 at heart

I may be prejudiced, but maybe my Cupra looks more sporty and masculine but the Merc has 272 BHP...

Have you been inside the Merc Coupe yet? I looked at one of these when I was car hunting and the inside is, well, horrible. I've never seen such a lot of cheap plastic in a car's interior... and I've owned Fords!

Everything felt like it had come from the Early Learning Centre. Big, plastic, poorly made.

Make sure you spend a fair bit of time in the Merc before deciding. And then, Enjoy your Cupra ;)

Thanks for all your comments! Please keep them coming....

Easy question: If you want to have fun, take the Cupra. If you are retired, take the Mercedes.

Yeah, my reasoning is going that way... If I had to choose wit my heart, I would keep my current LCR (don't fancy the new Leon too much). My head tells me to go for the Merc though...

Actually, this Merc comes with the AMG kit (including 18 inch wheels). The interior looks well made, less plasticky plus it has real aluminium. It *almost* reminded me of an Audi TT

Forgot to say: The Mercedes may have 272BHP, but it's heavy!

Yes, but 0-62 in 6.4 s (same as the new Cupra) and 350 Nm torque. The rear wheel drive feels different...

So, I think we all the agree the Merc is a fat old mans car. It's a nice fat old mans car though.

But I am old:( but not fat (yet):)

Go for the Merc, you know it makes sense

Yes, my head tells me so, but my heart tells me different
Please keep sending me your opinions... they are very valuable

@rrpalma: You're right, it has the same 0-100km/h time. But it is more comfy, not sporty. And don't forget the remap possibilities. The rear wheel drive may be interesting if you are able to drift with a car... Otherwise you probably drive with ESP.
If I would have bought my Cupra 1P with my head it would be a boring FR TDI... :D ;)

You'll wish you bought the Cupra the moment you are presented with the invoice for your Mercedes service!!

You won't be laughing unless of course money isn't an issue.
