only an idiot would register a car 5 weeks before a new registration
I registered my old Cupra 280 middle of July 2014, I have just sold it and to be honest the car being on a 14 plate rather than a 64 plate made no difference to the value. Condition and mileage were the dealers main concerns.
Each to their own, but a little bit of plate snobbery isn't worth waiting for in my book. I would have the car ASAP
Just had a call off my dealer to say the same my car is ready and now at the garage. 10 weeks from order to delivery, they are happy to keep it till 1st September or i can pick it up now. I'm buying it so think ill wait till new plate.

Not been funny but it's ok spending other people's money. Reality is say in 3yrs time 17 plate vs 67 plate same condition both looked after similar mileage could equate to a difference of £500 in price due to the difference in plates.
So in theory taking the car 5 weeks early could cost £100 a week !! And regarding driving in the summer what summer Lol. I think we have a season all year round nowadays and usually Autumn is better weather.
