I don't know what UK dealers are quoting, but here in Spain I have been told it will be 5 months from time of order. 5000 cars already sold in Spain and the same in Germany.

Unless you have already ordered a "First Edition" in the UK it could be a long wait for RHD cars.

My local dealer (in Cadiz) said almost 3 months. Reading posts on the Spanish Ateca forums, everyone else in Spain is being told the same at the moment. A few forum members have received theirs these last few weeks. They love them (surprise, surprise!)

I'm going to take a couple for a test drive next week, then it'll be down to decisions, decisions...

Was that a custom order or one of the initial batch of "First Edition" special offers?

4 weeks sounds very unlikely for a factory order - it will probably take that long to get it delivered from the Skoda plant!

Initial Batch Fred, dealer only had one left, just so happend it was exactly what I wanted. They did say if I had left it until Monday to order I could be waiting until November.

I haven't ordered it yet. I don't really want it before the end of the year and that's not critical. At the moment I am thinking about waiting to see what engine options are coming. I have a 1.4tsi Leon and I am concerned that the extra weight will take the edge of the performance of the 1.4tsi Ateca.

I won't consider a diesel and the 150ps version I drove was 4 drive and frankly is was very slow. The 190 will be better, but that gets expensive as I don't really want 4drive.

The new 1.5 litre engines (petrol and diesel) are coming soon, maybe one of those will be more suitable, failing that a Golf Gti engine would suit it perfectly.

Luckily I am in no hurry and just love my Leon.

Smart choice waiting until you get exactly what you want. I currently have a Mercedes cla180 1.6 petrol sits at 120ps which I struggled with at the start, coming from a Astra vxr. Now I'm all about comfort and running costs, so the 1.6 tdi will be perfect for me. This will be my first Seat so I'm really looking forward to it.
