Going to pick up my new car this week, what can be classed as delivery mileage as a guy I work with picked his new car up with 50 miles on the clock from the same garage ?

Is there a legal limit to the amount of miles the garage can put on before it's not classed as delivery miles ?

Legally anything up to 500 if i remember right

Can it not be reset like VW's when you first pick it up?

My first and only brand new car had 36 miles on the clock when I got in it then the dealer reset it. He told me you could only do it once though. But being a VAG car i would have thought that you could do it with a Seat.

My Mercedes was reset when I went to pick it up. The screen said it had done 22 miles but the dealer reset it to 0.

However, having spoken to a number of different Merc dealers, they have all told me the same thing, namely that it is standard practice, and that the computer keeps the real mileage, opposed to just the mileage it says on the screen.

Not sure if SEAT do the same thing because my FR had 2,500 miles when I bought it.

Yep i had something like 13miles before i took it for a test drive

Took it for a test drive and picked it up a few days later with 16miles or something. I certainly wouldnt be a big fan of picking a car up with 50+ for me thats 2nd hand..

Hi.
Mine had 5 miles on the clock when I picked it up last Friday .

Just got mine and it had 17 miles on the clock, the car came fomr stock from another dealers near by so that would explain the mileage. Also the legal max delivery mileage on a new car is 200 miles...

PS love the MFC, found out you can set different option on it by holding in the MFC button for 2 secs...

Mine had 12 on it and is amongst the highest, never had more than 15 in 5 brand new cars.

I have however on at least 2 occasions test driven cars that weren't demos and would be sold to customers as new. One of these was actually a customer order I found out after the test drive.

ordered a k1 last night and the dealer said it should come with about 12 miles on it he said they have to take it for at least a 4mile test drive which is why u neva get a new car with 0 miles on the clock. unless the miles can be reset
