Wow!

I though I had it bad. my 1.9TDi Sport SC has been on order since 23/02/09... it's meant to be here this week but it's not apparently it was on the boat last Tuesday... I feel like I'm fighting the dealer t the moment to even get hold of anyone! :S

Hope you don't have to wait that long really... Can't you get them to send it with standards and then SEAT can retrofit the lights when they get some.. instead of you waiting for ages...

ordered mine about a week ago, not even gonna bother asking the dealer for a delivery date for a while yet.

I'm hoping if i just forget about it for a bit, the time'll go much quicker, rather than agonisingly counting down each day...

i tried forgetting about it, and reached halfway surprisingly quickly (with changing jobs and stuff in the middle it was easy to get distracted!) but i phoned them halfway and they had no real news, and I tried to put off phoning all the time, but now I'm trying to get hold of people it feels like I'm not a priority customer, as they already have my sale..

example:
Need to sort out finance proofs. had a message on Saturday telling me to sort some paper worky bits out and get hold of the garage. Phoned them on Tuesday, the two people dealing with me were not in and they were going to get back to me...

Had a phone call yesterday (Thurs) at work re: finance, he needed to make some checks "i'll call you back in 20 mins" came to the end of work, and i got home and phoned them (maybe 20 past 5)... his lines busy we'll get him to call you back once he's done.. again nothing.

Now today, a missed call at work. i phoned him after my half day had finished at 2.. no answer, then it was engaged at half 2 and I finally got through at quarter to 3... I'm just with someone ill phone you back with that information (all I'd asked for was the cost of the car..) and its just gone 5 and no response...

Yeah, right now it feels like they could care less about my custom cos they've already had it...

I wanted to factory order a 5dr 1.6 TDI CR, but was told that it September for delivery!
By the sound of it maybe it was Sept 2010!

I have given up and ordered a car from stock, should have it in a few weeks.

I have no idea when mine will arrive. I was told mid august but even if it did arrive then I would get it registered in September.

At first I didnt think waiting 3 months for the car would bother me but now it is!

I Believe I have made the right choice though as clios/corsas/puntos aren't an option, the Mazda 2 looks like a micra and the fiesta isnt all that looks-wise unless it's massively spec'd up.

well, least if it comes in september you'll get a shiny new 59 plate on it ;)

I've waited four years to get a new car, a 3month wait knowing that one's finally on its way is bareable

hehe, same. My cheap run around that got me my no claims and hence brought my premiums down and allowed me to buy a new car has been fantastic! Ill be so sad to see my old one go.

3 months wait is nothing I agree, and in a way I'm glad because I can save up and make sure everything is just right when I pick it up!

Sometimes is very hard to say when the car will be built and will get to you yes we get build dates but it all out of our control untill that car you have ordered is in the UK

Factory order means just that and means you just got to wait for a spanish man to make it for you.

Again once the car has ordered it all down the admin team to cheep track on it, the system we use to order car's is something us sales guys can;t get onto as it is password protected.

Apparently i have been told that the factory closes down during August in Spain, which is one reason to sept dates given, i was told this by a Hidsons dealership.

Makes sense, I know a lot of places where a production line and mass assembly have around a 2 week shut down in summer.

hopefully mine will be done before the shut down and on its way to me on a ship :D

Yeah i know, and my car is at the dealer now only a week late.. just trying to figure out the finance as they can't offer the original deal... but for some reason the price of the car has gone up by £800?! I was intending on speaking to them tomorrow as im normally on a half day on fridays, but it now seems ill be in portsmouth till 10 doing some urgent work for a customer! arrgh! so close and yet so far!

When i saw my car it still had the foamy stuff on so i believe them when they say it had arrived like an hour before i got there. the tdi badges are under the indicators and the rear is nice and clean apart from the 'ibiza' marking (and maybe a seat badge? I don't remember)

Cheers for the input tho cannon man, i'm just impatient! ;)

Yeah, my TDI was ordered on 30/03/09 - now told it's expected 10/09/09 due to the factory shut down for August. Was originally told June, then July, now September. They should have been upfront with the new engine likely to cause delays as over 5 months is a joke!
