design fault?, re engine mounting bolts???

that was my point its been chipped and is asking more from the mounts than originally intented. i think most people with chipped cars have an uprated dog bone mount

Just to update those that care Took the car to local garage as planned, left instructions as previously in this thread... ie. find out why the mounting bolts keep sheering off, they replaced the bolt and told me to get all engine mounts replaced by dealer, or uprate all mounts to race spec. at £300 plus labour.

Another call to Seat, after a chat found that my mount has snapped in half as there should be 2 mounting bolts into the gearbox, mine only has a hole for 1, also the bolts should be stretch bolts so no wonder mine keep snapping.

Bless my local garage that has now replaced the 1 bolt twice, charged me £52 + £60, not noticed part of the mount missing and put the wrong bolts in.

why on earth did they choose to use stretch bolts tho in this application...

i thought stretch bolts were a use once type that as you tightened them they "stretch" to lock in as it were
