I was coming home from work tonight, and this came on. Nothing 'appears' to be wrong (yet), and the car appears to run fine. However, i think i'm right in thinking that this is the light that comes on when something, somewhere, is wrong!? Only time i've had it before is when a coil pack has gone, but when that happens it's very obvious!

Any ideas at all?

1.6 engine btw.

you got an induction kit fitted? could be MAF related? sure someone else will be along soon who knows bit more than me lol

May be coolant temperature sensor?

Had similar - warning light on but running OK. Dealer said fine to drive it if light not flashing and running normally.

I think there's more details elsewhere on the site.

You could do with running VAG com on it. See what codes the ECU has thrown up. thats usually a pretty good starting point and go from there

Russ :)

its the senser thats on the cat could be a fault with the sener or the cat it self thats if the 1.6 is the same as the lcr 'Diagnisis/Excess of Pollution' warning light

It could be anything! It could be a sensor somewhere throwing a temper tantrum, or it could be something much more serious. But it doesn't point to one specific problem. The best thing you can do is find somebody with VAG-COM or take it to your nearest Seat dealer or specialist to have it scanned for fault codes.

If it's nothing, you'll be able to have them wiped and carry on as normal.
If it's something more serious, you'll have got in early before any more damage is done.
