Diagnostic light on...

Hi all. Been sifting the site for a while; good job.

Only recently had my Leon cupra (02 plate) and love it, but - noticed from the beginning that it wasn't idling as smooth as I thought it should, but thought no more about it.

As I've gotten used to it there are days when the initial pull at around 2000 rpm just isn't as satisfying as the day before. Finally today, the diagnostic/emissions light came on; not flashing, just on all the time. Coil pack??

Question: Assuming it is the coils that have gone, is it going to hurt to drive until Seat can have it in? Or could the problem be something else?

Its under the dealer warranty so it's not going to hurt the wallet thankfully. It's a standard pre-facelift cupra by the way, with no tinkering that I know of.

Secondly: Can't get the climate control to give up its secrets through pressing the recirc+fan button combo... nothing happens. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

if the car revs past 3500 rpm it's not the coilpack

more likely coolant sensor or lambda sensor

diagnostics will answer all queries though vagcom etc

After reading those notes properly(!), I've got the climate to talk to me, so thanks. :D
Car is ticking over quite nicely so tending to agree that it isn't the coil. Will be seeing Seat on Monday methinks (and Friday to replace a seatbelt but thats another story!)
Thanks all.

Still no seatbelt (now 2 weeks overdue) but the problem with the car was the coolant sensor as predicted mork. Nice one mate. Been changed today and the car is *much* better.

Do sensors like these fail-to-safe then i.e. assume the worst if they break?
