• Hey Guest💡👉 We have just launched our new Dealer Directory and review service Find out more now
I was with Direct Line for years and they were by far the cheapest. When I bought the Cupra they quoted £400+ so I shopped around. Signed up with Admiral for £230 fully comp. That's on a 10 plate. I'm 35 but live in Norfolk so crime is pretty low round here, which helps keep the premium down. Can't believe how much some of you guys are paying though.

Jason, I'll trade cheap car insurance for a clean car ;)

Mine is down with Admiral as a Cupra on the docs. I did tell them a number of times it is a Boca but they said there both the same on there system? this was 3 months ago. I only Pay £350 with me and my GF I am 24 6 Years NCB and she is 22 with 1 years NCB and 2 nonfault acidents in the last 6 months.

Insurance is a strange thing mate. The reason I got the Boca and ditched my MK2 Leon Cupra was insurance, one year it cost me £600 to insure and the next it was £1800.... if your under 28 insurance is a lotto :(

its amazing just waht area/location can do. Im 24 with 8NCB and a second car with 3 years and my insurance with a multicar policy (extra discount) is £359 and your 24 with 6NCB's and accidents. Strange?

I was with Direct line and they quoted £808 halved that sawpping :D

I was the same. I got quotes for the cupra and went to the dealer to buy one and the dealer told me the FR is almost the same as the cupra but cheaper so I bought the fr then found the insurance was twice as much makes no sense when they are all pritty much the same car

I had a quote lined up for the swap over to my new boc. Was told it would cost an additional £45 due to the mods, wasn't complaining. When i rang up to initiate the swap they said they needed to do the quote from scratch... Told me then it would cost me an extra £380.... After a long debate as to why it has increased it was found that rather than going purely on the car details brought up by the number plate, he had typed in Bocanegra. Where as the plates bring up Cupra.... So reverted back to using the plates and it changed to £35 ?!?! This insurance malarkey surrounding these cars baffles me lol

Same problem I had with mine when renewal came up. Showed it as a cupra and they told me a boc is group 14 and the cupra is group 4! WTF???!!!! Long fight and they finally agreed to the lower quote as my log book clearly states CUPRA BOCANEGRA.

I picked up my Boca on Friday. Traded in my Mk1 LCR. Used to pay £850 for the LCR and now pay £450 for the Boca with 5yrs no claims and business use.

Well happy with the car, power delivery is so much smoother than the LCR, yes not as much power but love it

So does this mean that all bocanegras are down as cupras? I have had the same issue when getting quotes, put in the reg u get one quote but put it in as a boca without the reg it goes up by about £300!!! Crazy

It most certainly would appear to be the case mate. I never had a reg number when I first took it out which explains why it dropped so drastically when I quoted with the reg number.

The question is, do i take the risk and buy a new one that may not be like this or buy a used one that i know for sure has this quirk??!!
