So been on the phone with Admiral as it's that time of the year again. Got my renewal quote...... £1400.00 :-o !!!!!!! So i get on the laptop and start comparing quotes. Result, elephant (sister company to admiral) £695.00  So i ring up admiral, erm i will not be renewing thanks. Admiral, may we asj why sir? Sure thing, I got it cheaper from elephant. Really???!! Yes! I am sure we can match that. Go for it. Checking reference number.................

Oh hang on sir, it says here under your reg number it is a cupra but your policy says it is a bocanegra. Ummmm it's exactly the same car darling! No it isn't sir, according to our records, a cupra is insurance group 4 and a bocanegra is insurance group 14! :-o :wtf: !!!!

Hang up after huge fight and no help trying to make her understand it is exactly the same car bar a black front. So I call back and get another operator. Same story b ut she says hang on if the system says your car is a cupra then the error is on our side. I can match the elephant price sir. :funk: So let me confirm then please, you say my seat ibiza cupra as listed by the dvla when you input my registration number is insurance group 4???!!!! Yes sir, that is correct. OK then, I accept the quote and sign me up thank you.
Mate please help me I have got the exact same problem at the minute I have got my boc on order because I have had a good quote like yourself and when I call back they say they will not ensure me for a Boc but all the box reg's I typed in came up as cupra tsi.
How did you sort this out because if I can't get the same outcome you did iv got to sell the boc the day it comes.
I need help with this please. Thanks mike.

Tell them to get you a quote on the number plate alone, don't go through the whole ordeal of typing inSeat, Ibiza, Cupra, Bocanegra etc separately and you should be fine

That's true mate. the plate will show the car as a cupra bocanegra, it is a cupra and stand your ground mate. I fought long and hard with them about it until they finally caved.

just read the review it top gear mag says its group 28 got 4 out of 5 though but it says the clio is better

They say the clio is better if you want an all out machine, but clio interiors are just horrible and tacky!

Cupras are just awesome all round! :D.... Thats why i need one!

Yeah they are about on par speed wise with a stoc Boc but they handle a lot better than a stock Boc. But there is no way it could get 45mpg :D

A clio could probably get 30 mpg ... on a good day! they are supposed to have much better brakes aswell, unless you got the racing brake option.. which I dont :(

I struggle dto get 30's on my clio. I can get 40's in the cupra.

Unfortunatley the cupra just isnt up there with the clio in terms of handling.

But the ibiza stands and looks so much better, the interior is a 100 times better than the clio, with far less rattles too

I got my Boc yesterday and searched fro some quotes last week and the best was £800, not a lot more than my renewal fro my diesel astra! So I didnt think that was bad, but when we got home in the Boc the wifes renewal had arrived so I got her to ring for the Boc and for her it was £551. We opnly have the 1 car now so £551 it is.

I knew the Ibiza Cupra was the right car for us, and I have been proved right in EVERY way. LOL!
