Difference between sport and FR?

my facelift FR had poking out twin exhaust too...if i remember....only had it on there for bout 2 months...before the milltek went on

really more to insure?

Think you have covered most things. On the Pre Facelift FR there was also:

2x poking out exhausts
FR badges on the Side Pillars
More to insure

thought sports were less group 8 arnt they

they said they don't take any notice of insurance group as they have their own and the sport variant is a riskier model lol =]

sport is 7 but FR is 8 in real life ... not insurance life xD

What differences are there with the Sport vs FR gearbox ratios? I've never heard of that before.

It was only about 10 pound different for me on the insurance

The sport has longer gear ratio's

in 3rd gear the FR will be at 2krpm at around 30mph whereas the sport will be doing 40mph at 2krpm

the FR feels more urgent and nippy around town as you are not waiting to be on peak torque or revving as high

More to insure, are you sure? An FR TDi on my insurance isn't much more than the 1.2

I think they're both pretty strong, it's just what you prefer using

the sport gets better mpg on manufacturers figures though =]

From the sound of things the 0-60 times would be slightly better on the FR through it spinning up faster?

When I was choosing my Ibiza Tdi I had no idea there was a gearbox difference...In fact I like the idea of a slightly taller box on the Sport. My FR is lively though

BTW My insurance wasn't any difference between the two

Dont think the gear ratio's would make that much difference, My sport does me well enough, Lively is the correct word like stated above.
