Differences in 1.4 16v engines

Sorry if this has been covered before, still relatively new here and to Ibiza ownership.

What are the differences between the 75bhp, 85bhp and 100bhp 1.4 engines. I have an 85bhp car and I'm wondering if it would take much to get that extra 15bhp just by doing what SEAT did to the later cars in the factory.

Any info/help will be appreciated.

Right, starting with "age" of engines, first comes the 100PS one, next is the 75PS one and lastly comes the 85PS one. This final variant does not lend itself to doing much to boost output (niether does the 75PS one). So, its not just a case of swopping/buying new bits from the VAG parts bin - sorry!

Thats what I thought but mine is a 2005 and according to the V5 has the 85bhp engine. Hmmm......

Strange Seat did not use it until then, it was available back in mid 2002 when I ordered my wife's Polo 9N but I was suspicious of it so deliberately avoided it and picked the 75PS engine (big mistake maybe!).
