Difficult to select reverse, clutch release bearing?

Clutch release bearing on the ibiza has been noisy when cold for a while, making a clunking noise.
Past few days when driving in traffic or using the clutch alot its been getting difficult to select reverse. Could this be caused by the clutch release bearing overheating or any other issues? Only seems to be when doing alot of manouvering so didnt think this would affect linkage

Check brake fluid level - it feeds the clutch too.

Ok, every other gear is fine though and ok when cold or driving normal. Just when parking and shunting aboot

Reverse gear has no synchromesh, so if the clutch isn't fully disengaging it will struggle more than the forward gears. Eventually the forward gears will start playing silly beggars too.

Dont fancy forking out for a new clutch, all because of a bloody bearing. Be aswell getting an uprated clutch if I have to change the bearing, either that or il be selling it. £1k bill doesnt appeal to me. Topped up brake fluid today seeing if that will help cause it wasnt full to the top, not counting on it being the fluid though

Have you moved either cables on on top of the gear box?

I've got the same problem recently on my Leon FR TDi. When trying to select 1st or Reverse on a Standstill, it struggles big time. Pumping the clutch does nothing. Am getting quoted bills of £7 - 850!!

No, can they be adjusted? What are the cables for as though clutch was hydraulic rather than cable

The cables link the gearbox to the gearstick - If they are in need of adjustment it can be hard to select some or all of the gears.
