Basically after lots of votes and reading good reviews I had a pair fitted to the front to replace the bridgestone potenzas it had on which lets face it were over priced crap. However I have only had these fitted 6 months and whilst I am very happy with the way they perform I am not so happy that I am already down to 3mm of tread after doing less than 4000 miles! I would have expected about 15000 miles or 18 months out of a set but looks like I will get 6000 miles and about 8 months if lucky :(

It was always my plan to fit these to the rear which I may still do but I am very reluctant now to fit another set to the front so looking for other options please guys.

I did reply to the one on the weekend when I first noticed how low the tread has got in the last month. I should also add for about 2 months my clutch was slipping so would be interesting to see if anyone has ever got more than 10k out of a set on the front. Overall I am impressed with them apart from the lifespan. Had they have been super sticky it would be understandable but they aint that good.

Might go for the new rainsport 3 and chuck these on the back. They will see the summer out and then replace them should the uniroyals prove to wear much better

I wont be fitting pilots again as I am stuck in my ways lol. Whilst they were probably pilot 2 fitted to MG ZR wheels which I had on my rover220sdi they were shocking for the money!

Decided to try the uniroyals, having had them fitted on other cars and being really impressed with them in both performance and wear I hope they prove to be the same this time round. Think its safe to say they cant be any worse that vreds on wear!

Hmm keep us updated! I saw the Rainsport 3 tyres and they look good. Im contemplating to swap my Michelin Pilot Sport tyres, as they are flat out dangerous in the wet...I have 2 in the front now and Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tyres in the back (those are ace).

Should be getting them fitted tomorrow so I hope they live up to my expectations. Will be driving about a fair bit on the weekend so will be able to give them a good run

I'll be very interested to hear your views on the Rainsport 3s. My only real gripe with the 2s was the road noise, but it sounds (no pun intended) as though they've addressed that.

To be honest I never noticed it before, I had 3 sets on 2 different cars though the setup was basically the same. The only real draw back I found with them on 195/50/15 was they were not that good in the damp but excellent in the dry and amazing in the wet.

Should they perform the same, give good feed back and last about 15k I will be happy. After coming from the potenza which are probably more noisy that off-road tyres I dont see noise being much of an issue.

i had rainsport 3's put on mine at xmas, performed really well so far and seem to be lasting pretty well.

i only paid £100 a corner fitted? :s

I got a pair of goodyear efficient grip performance on my LCR. I'm quite impressed with them so far. They got good grip in the wet and the road noise is fairly quiet. I checked the net and they got very good ratings all round. The cheapest i found them on the net was £105 a corner and rang my nearest tyre supplier and they price matched. Anyone else used these?
