Did the above to try and find out if the MAF was causing my poor boost problems. I never noticed any change in power but the car did stall at every junction I came to ?

So from this can I/cant I take it that the MAF is fine ?

The car should still run OK without the MAF plugged it, it will just run rich using preset values from the ECU instead of actually measuring the amount of air coming into the engine.

Disconnecting the MAF isn't always a full proof way of knowing if it is at fault. Have you run it through VAG COM yet?

Hmm you say it will run rich but my car already gets terrible mpg , i.e 22/23mpg so i thought rich running was already a problem.

I dont have vag com unfortunatley but i do have a fault code reader which always brings up the following :

17964-Charge Pressure Control: Negative Deviation

I have looked everywhere for boost leaks but to no avail. Getting very sick of it now !

Might be a good idea to try another MAF if you can get hold of another local member.

I'd also really try and get hold of VAG COM - make sure there's no other fault codes and also log blocks 002 (air flow), 115 (requested vs actual boost) and 118 (N75 duty) so you can get a clearer picture of what's going on.

Split hoses can be hard to pin down so I'd also be tempted to buy a couple of metres of vac hose and replace them all for peace of mind just to rule it out.

car shouldnt be running that **** without the maf and if it didnt drive pretty much normal when disconnected i'd suspect maf is fine

have you been ****ing around with your n249?

Cheers lads it turned out the N75 was the wrong way round ! Im now hitting around 8 psi and not getting limp mode so much.

So ive still got an issue , but at least its running a bit better :) :)
