Disconnecting Battery

I'm planning to do this to my Mk3 for 3 weeks at a time ,as I'm using a company car ATM , and the beezer is just sitting there.
Any damage to ECU or other parts by doing so??

if you are worried about the battery going flat why not put it on a trickle charger when not in use?

Are they expensive?
How does the engine lid close . I have an alarm.

no more than a normal charger iirc and yes the bonnet closes so no prob with alarm

And if parked away from socket?
Where do I get electricity from?

extension lead? on a rcd for safety i do it this way but i have an IP rated outdoor socket

I heard of chargers that connect to the in-car 12v socket.

eh? what they run from the battery that you are tring to charge???? how does that work?

That's What I thought .
Maybe I'll just disconnect and hope the ECU isn't damaged.

Was going to suggest that, unplug the ECU take it indoors and properly protect the ECU cables in the car from the weather.

mine sits for up to 12 weeks with battery disconnected put it on starts fine

you can buy solar panel tickle chargers, i have used one, but mines been in the garage for the last year or so i cant coz its dark!

but i have left my car for a good few months with out problem to the ecu!, i wouldnt worry
