Do golf mk5 coilovers fit mk2 leons

hi i have a mk2 1.4 tsi. can anyone tell me if coilovers from a mk5 golf will fit my car

Depends what model the golf coilovers are? There are some combinations that work and some that don't you need to be model and engine specific.

Are you asking this because you're getting a pair currently fitted to a golf? Because if you're buying new most manufacturers will offer a setup for the leon.

hi thanks for your help they came off a 2006 golf gti and are fk silverline coilovers. been told the base of the strut is 50 mm if this helps. they are coming of a friends golf as he is trading it in. thanks again

after a bit of research I think the part number for GTI Mk5 FK Silverlines is FKXVW47. They have a different product code for the standard Mk5 golf dependent on weights of the car.

The Leon codes range from FKXSE74 up to 77.. their website is all in german and I'm not a very good linguist! but i'm not sure on the differences and whther or not the product codes are there to mark a difference in design or just manufacturer.. hence the VW and the SE
