Their decat for my race cat?

Otherwise I'm just gonna chop my race cat open and pull out the insides!

I've got access to a ramp so change can happen easily and quickly. I'm based at raf cosford. Just out side Wolverhampton.

The race cat is magnex and 3".

I want more flames and pops and bangs.

Call me what you want but. Becauseracecar!

Something satisfying about having a petrol spitting car!

Fair enough. I suppose I've got old and sensible now ☺️
Plus the mrs wouldn't be happy, she kicked off with a turbo back resonated Milltek

Fair enough! I'm still young!

Plus I live on camp so I havnt got any neighbours to annoy! Or a wife!

Oh really. I would sell it but I hsvnt got any thing to replace it with atm.

How much is it worth over a decat?

a mate of mine has a removeable cat on his, he can literally interchange the cat section with a straight through pipe, just on axle stands, (its on a TT but still), takes longer to put it on stands than it does to swap it over.

yeh on my mk3 golf 20vt iv got a straight bit of pipe with v bands welded on each end and the cat with v bands on the end and just put the cat in for mot time takes literally 2 minutes to swap it over as if you buy the whole decat section you will have to keep the cat anyway for mot time and will be a ball ache replacing the whole section

A meter of pipe and a couple of v bands will do the job then will it? Probably a better option. I have a friendly mot guy but he isn't always going to be convenient to get too.

Cheers lads. Will find an exhaust builder local and get it priced up as my current system will need to be v banded aswell

yeh i needed 3 sets of v bands 2 for the cat, 2 for the decat pipe and 2 for the exhaust that is on the car ended up with 3 clamps but only needed 2 just need a bit of pipe that is the same size/slightly bigger as the cat.

i had a mate do mine but i was kinda going the other way i had a decat and needed to fit a cat so only had to buy the cat and v bands, for yours i will be 500mm of pipe, 3 sets of v bands and maximum 1 hour labour

Yeah that's what I thought. I've sent a couple of emails of to some exhaust builders near me. Hopefully they don't try charging the earth!

Thanks for the very useful post bud!
