Does it cause a problem?

From the original posting in the 6J section, this bit was covered, but either way, it seems a bit silly that a lot of water lands there when a lot of attention if given to keeping the under bonnet area clear of water getting in.

For what it is worth, the 6R/6C Polo has an area left clear so that a chassis plate label can be seen from above - that area looks to be poorly protected and gets covered by road crap and water - which can not be a good thing - that area is an opened up section of a chassis box section, ie top side has been opened up!!

Current Leon, or early versions of them, have a situation where rain water gets past an area that should be sealed, and drops down on to the coil pack - that means that just outside warranty the coil pack fails, Seat UK think that they are "seeing owners okay" by modifying that area FOC, but hitting them hard for supplying and fitting a new coil pack and leads and plugs - so maybe you can see that the OP could have reasons to question this.
