A few weeks ago I noticed a black bora about a foot away from my back bumper. I new there was a few tight corners coming up so I planted it and left him for dust doin about 160 kph.
Later on as I had slowed back down to normal speed he pulled up beside me and showed me his badge and waved me to pull over.(It was a guard who had just gone off duty)
Thank god he didn't say much, cause he said I was the first one he ever pulled over and he'd let me away this time. He was also wondering how I got round those corners so fast.

Yeah deffo. What you've done to your Sport is amazing Dan and to look at it, no-one would ever know. Would be funny watching the result of an idiot trying it though.
I know this thread has been resurrected but will comment anyway; YES IT DOES. Especially by the two Astra VXR owners who live nearby, they've got no idea. I don't know how many times I'm going to have to embarrass them in front of their mates before they realise it's a lost cause and to stop trying.
Echoing some earlier comments, got walloped by a 535 ESTATE the once though. Hung my head in shame.

When I see a fast car I sometimes hassle them a bit purely so I can hear the roar of their engine as they zoom off, its not because I think I can do them lol.

Happens to me all the time at the lights.
It's even better when you literally wave bye bye to them as the dsg does it's stuff!! The confusion in their faces is priceless.

It must be me, but i find 1st gear crap, i get the part when coming of a corner then yes nothing compares but from traffic lights i would imagine getting beaten most of the time, i admit not tried it yet but have put foot down in first and not happy unless im doing something wrong if so can some body please inform us, i did read something about having the revs at 2000 then floor it gives a launch control method dont know if true.

Make sure your ESP is on, first gear, right foot to the floor, revs will stop at 3k, release clutch and hold on tight!!!
Don't imagine the clutch will stand up to that for long

There is a rover that lives around my way, i think its an old 1.4 injection. The guys thinks it is fast, as it has a spoiler on the boot and roof!! lol
I love it when people try to overtake and i just touch the throttle and they go backwards!!
I did that with a ferrari f430, followed him upto 110mph then he left me like I was standing still sounded amazing! All on a private road ofcourse

Dident realise how quick the Cupra is up to a ton (private road) against a Civic, it sounded like it had a induction kit and after market exhaust as my standard Cupra is quiteish and could hear it revving its nuts off
