My LCR does the same, but most of the times I like it. When I push hard and I change the 2nd or 3rd gear, the rpm rises up and the accelerating is extremely strong after the clutch depressing. It seems most of the LCRs have the same "problem"...

It holds revs a tad longer due to the dualmass as there heavyer, but it shouldent rev up to the redline, il whip the TB hose off and have a look, see if its dirty, also get someone to sit in t he car and depress and let off the pedal and see if the butterfly valve is working in relation to the pedal. Also try TB alignmet see if it cures it.

Sorry to bring an old threat back from the dead I'm just wondering if anyone has fixed this, over reving problem my lcr is doing it and as someone said makes you look like you can't drive. My revs rise about 500 revs when driving it can't be good for the clutch because when you change gear its not smooth you can feel a jerk as the clutch slows the engine down also if I'm giving it the beans and I change gear at 6500rpm it'll rev to 7000rpm which is also not good. Any help would be great cheers

Cool I'll have a look later where is the switch ? is it a case of resetting it or will I need a new one ?

Just an update its was the clutch switch it had stuck in I managed to fix it so now running sweet thanks everyone for all the info

got the same problem in with mine.

it does it in neutral as well as in gear.

i have ordered clutch position switch in the hope it cures it.

as it goes my VW caddy does the same thing :(

I had this problem on my old lcr .. nearly rear'ended the car in front the first time.. from changing to 2nd.. was like I had the after burners on haha.. glad I now know what it could have been!! I thought it must have been the map as it happened a couple days after the remap was done! Happy days

Sorry for resurrecting again but thought i would add my tuppence worth.

Mine doesn't do it when in neutral and off the clutch.

Does it when the clutch is down, in gear and on over run ie not on the throttle. Assuming it clutch sensor but will check and confirm.
