Bilston.
Folks,

Any of you find that your doors drop slightly when opening - my 3 door fr the drivers door moves up slightly when being closed - i can see it from the scuff of the plastic surround.

If not, can anyone make any recommendations - do i need to get it put on a jig to see if its not straight - slight concern.

Have`nt seen this problem for years, and not on a mk4 beeza yet!
The door pins can wear down, can you grab the door at the handle end and move it up and down? is there play in the hinges when you do this?

i cant physically see it - ie i try moving the door up and down but when i close its definatly catching and moving up.

Hmmm ok, does the door seal ok when closed? ie: no wind noise when driving like there`s a window open / or any leaks?

Loads of wind noise, from the top corner of the door - has been since i had the car and after 3 years of warranty attempts and a complaint to seat no joy.

I do also get alot of water(condensation) around the window when washing the car.

So the door`s definately not sitting properly when closed then?
3 years, has it been like that since new? If so that rules out accident damage!

Don`t really know what to suggest then mate other than worn hinges/pins or maybe the latch (on the B pillar) has moved - not sure about the mk4 but these are normally adjustable.

Sounds like the door catch is too high. An easy fix if you have a set of torx bits.

Has the seatbelt buckle ever been trapped in the door?

i do have a torex set and would interested in the easy fix :)

You can just undo the bolts SLIGHTLY and move the latch up or down, then tighten it back up.

Make sure you mark where it sits first though so you know where it was originally - should you make things worse you can always put it back!
