Was dropping mum off yesterday and she went to open rear passenger door and it made this real loud thud noise as it the door had come off its hinges or something! checked outside car, inside and underneath and no damage or obvious signs of a problem. But noticed a red screw on the floor. Turned out one of the srews that holds the door in place had come out.

Now ive never heard of a screw coming loose on a door like that before and rarely use rear doors.

Any ideas what would have made it loosen and fall off like that?

Not a clue, but it can happen, door pins manage to work loose some how. Does it look worn and can you fit it back in place so it fits tightly? If not, contact a SEAT dealer for a new one to be on the safe side.

This happened to me on a previous car although it was a 3dr so happened when I exited the car. The door dropped and this little worn pin fell to the floor. I replaced the pin and it never did it again.
