The silicone needs plenty of time to dry. If the water gets at it before it drys it will be useless and need to be done over again.
I used silicone the first time I fixed mine. It leaked so I removed it and used the butyl rubber. Far easier job to do and seals it up 100% even if it rains on it striaght away

theres nothing better than the genuine stuff, thick liqorice type self adhesive strips, 5 in the box for £30 from tps or seat.

chances are if its leaking straight away its not sealed nevermind not dried.

Hhm mines leaking and it seams to be coming in through my door out my speakers...which means the window rubber is failing ;( so might be the same for you.

I done the door seals with silicone and they leaked after the first time. I had to redo them and they have been perfect since. Use a good brand of silicone, one thats quick drying or that can be applied to damp surfaces.

hi frannyb ...even though you done your door seal you will have condensation in the car...the cause i found to be is the underlay thats under the carpet its probably still quite wet, what i did was take the seats out stripped carpet back took out underlay got all the stagnint water out of it washed and dried nice and fresh now refitted no more musty smell or mould smell if you like....ps if taken out the seats disconnect battery first.

I used silicone the first time but with all the rain it failed straight away!
I had some stickerflex left over from a previous job and that stuff is amazing flexible but don't get any on your hands as it won't come off for days!
I've done it the proper way on my drivers door with the butyl tape but it took a while
If you want a quick fix use stickerflex but make sure you seal your speakers as they can leak to
Hope this helps
