Door unlocking problem

Hi, can anyone advise what might be the problem here, when unlocking the car with the remote the drivers door sometimes dosnt unlock so I have to put the key in the door to unlock it, all the other doors except for this one unlock perfectly fine. I have tried it a few times and I can't hear anything in the door moving when I press to unlock it like I can hear coming from the others.

Is there a fix I can do for this or do I have to replace whatever the faulty part may be?

presumably you need to get your door card off and check the cables and the actuator, it may just be a loose wire.

I should point out that im new to Seats, though i've been fettling with vag vehicles for a while.

My leon came with a non funcioning boot lock, i could have replaced the actuator as it was stuck, but I just disassembled it, cleaned it and oiled it and now it works - and for free.

Thanks for the reply, if that's what it could be I could have a go myself iv had the door card off not long back to do the seals so wouldn't take me long I dont think

Mine was doing this. Then a long time later, the beep when lights left on didn't work when the door was opened, then at the same time, the interior light stopped coming on when door was open.
All other doors functioned properly.

The problem was a worn micro switch in the drivers door module. The micro switch can't be replaced so you have to buy a whole new unit for around £120!!

Was that from the stealers? I wonder if u can use one from a breakers or off eBay if there are any on?

Mine was the switch in the mechanical part of the module and it was badly worn down. I wouldn't have been following that guide in the link and I'm happy now i know I have a complete new unit in there.

Also forgot to say, the car also used to lock itself after unlocking if you didn't put keys in the ignition. VERY ANNOYING!

Mine locks itself if I don't put keys in ignition and turn, it caught me out once and had to get aa out to brake in, thought this was some sort of stupid security feature so obviously not lol, I take it yours dosnt do this now then? Did u fit yours urself?

Yes it's all sorted now.

My mate fitted it for me. If you know what your doing then you should be ok with it.

Wd40 then Lee or will I need some proper contact/switch cleaner? Any idea?

They say switch cleaner as it evaporates leaving no residue, WD40 leaves a residue for the dirt to stick to.

Maplin will sell the cleaner.
