Downpipe and decat

Hi guys

I have a LCR 225 Bam and has a stage 1 remap.. My exhaust flexi is blowing and I'm thinking of replacing it with a downpipe from eBay. I'm wondering just how much difference (compared to the standard one) I will notice power wise and also noise?

I can get a standard one off an s3 for free but will this fit mine? I presume so?

Would it be better to get a decat with standard downpipe or the new downpipe and standard cat? Obviously both would be better but ATM funds only allow one or the other!

The only thing is I can't see anywhere in the description what inch it is. Ideally want a 3" one if I do end up getting one.
 
the standard downpipe is restrictive its definitely worth upgrading, if you need a replacement anyway you might as well!

not to sure on whether it will fit onto the standard cat. I have a full 3" turbo back on mine so everything from the downpipe to the tail pipe was replaced
 
ive just opened your link and the pics look like it will fit a standard cat. if you were to decat your car I don't believe this will fit as the pipe goes into 2 pieces. a decat will require a downpipe that stays as one

Thank you for your reply. Im struggling to find one that will my car! Previously bought one, then realised it was for a cupra.

not sure lol, sorry, mine is an 80mm tip and so is the badger 5. both are a decent bit of kit to be fair although I believe the badger 5 is a little better in quality but a bit more expensive

If you can afford it, and wanting to go to the remap side, you would be better forking out for the 3" Downpipe and Single decat, or sports cat. I have a twin decat on but standard downpipe and wanting to get mine mapped straight to stage2, they recommend upgrading downpipe
 
What would you guys recommend? Getting the scorpion decat with the standard downpipe. Or standard car with the new downpipe?

Cant see there being much difference between the new DP and standard. If you wanting to upgrade it, you be better with 3". Settle for decat, it will be suprisingly louder at first, but it will become less noticeable as you get used to it.. You will notice more torque and holding on to it more at top end. This is what I have discovered from decatting recently, but I do plan on going 3"
