I don't think it matters where the holes are drilled to be honest, but more seems to help!

you know tho ewhole 3500rpm noise you get when you boot it....it's like that from like 2500rpm now, sounds quite throaty, no difference in normal driving, but foot to the floor it makes a nice throaty noise!

the part can't be that expensive anyway i wouldn't have thought, they can always be duck taped back up :hide:

Get a hacksaw and chop off that "tunnel" that connects to the main airbox!

On my car I have removed the part that isnt shown in your pic. So basically just running the tunnel and airbox. Makes is slightly louder. No were as great as running the car without an airbox though. People always turned around when I floored it! shame crap could potentially get into the air intake.

done this to my 1.2 and now its lost all power and when idle it jerks ALOT. any iddeas :/

With regard to a drilled air box sucking in hot air.........

The air box is not a thermos flask. it gets hot if it's near the engine and any air in it will be warmed up. I can't see the holes making much difference TBH apart from the noise.

have you connected everything back up... from memory there were pipes that ran around that area, which colu of been vaccum pipes... long time since i hasd my ibiza and memory is a bit sketchy ??

When i had a K&N  on my corolla t sport it did nothing but mess it up! Took my other half about 8 hours one day to take it off and put the original back on, some cars just dont like sucking in too much air i think! I am very un-technical (is that even a word?) but it just caused loads of problems to an otherwise bullett proof car :( i will be leaving my ibiza well alone, altho the green panel filter & pd160 does appeal after reading in the FAQs!

1.2 is to grouly as it is been 3pot doing this is just gonna make ppl think you're a ****** when its Screaming down the road get a back box tbh!
