drivers door light dont work on leon cupra

hi all..
i have a leon cupra.
drivers door light dont work but all other doors do
can anyone help me to solve it.thanks

does the interior light come on when you open the drivers door?

Reason i ask is that the microswitch in the lock mechanism is not an uncommon failure so the car doesnt know the door is open...

If the interior light does come on then this is good and its likely to be nothing worse than a bulb.. have you checked the bulb yet?

no the light dont come on but you know the light in the door card dont work either,but other doors do,is door mec easy to take off or do switch?

I've got the same issue with mine. Total PITA really and common across all the Golf MKIV platforms. Post up the cost of the parts if you do yours as I might get around to mine if its not too much cash.

I think I've got the same on the Passenger side. I presume the microswitch also tells the alarm system the door has been opened so not to re-arm after 30 seconds?
Every time I only open the passenger door to do something the bloody doors lock after 30 seconds of 'inactivity' and the alarm goes off, a royal PITA!

spot on and not a cheap fix considering its a naf'd microswitch and nothing more. Its just that its built into the locking mechanism. I did see a fix on a TT forum for it by replacing the switch only (with all the diagrams) but can I find it now ??? Can I f....!
