Drive past parked cars with windows down, or walls near the street ect you should hear it. That or you have one of two things:

1) a quiet box
2) a very good road surface

This day and age both those are unlikley aha!

I'll test it at the weekend then and let you know, fingers crossed for number 1 haha :1st:

Haha thanks for the vote of confidence mate:lol:

It sounds like its one of those noises that once heard you will never forget about, until you turn the radio up anyway :)

Haha true, but I've gotta say I really wouldn't go back on my decision of buying the car, with all it's funny noises and issues it's so worth it,

Amen to that! Haha.

I'm thinking of getting another after I've had this a few years, but it'll have to be pre-facelift though.. the concept facelift is nowhere near as nice to look at as ours are

Why would you want another one, wouldn't you just keep this one?

As I wrote that I realised my mistake, maybe he would get a 61plate just for a bit longer, but tbh I think best bet would be to get a extended warranty with all the bells and whistles!

Well mines a 59 plate so I could probably get a 12 plate or maybe a 62 plate and then I'd have a longer warrenty left but it will depend on the mileage I cover in mine aswell. To be honest I'll probably end up spending a fair bit on mine and just keep it longer

Like jay says mate ya better off just extending the warranty on the one you have. Especially seeing as they started stripping kit of the newer models.

I enquired About the extended warranty last time I went in for a service, the guy behind the desk seemed determined to put me off the idea, apparently there's a bit of reading required in the small print, and they don't compare to the initial warranty, I have no idea if this was just a sales pitch but hey just thought I'd share.

Bit of a bump to an old thread but the Boc did exactly this last week.

Driving along NSL road following a car that turned off another road. So as the road cleared i pulled away - didnt boot it as the car was still cold. The car felt a bit sluggish but i was putting that down to it being cold as id only don a mile or so from the house then the "D" started flasshing and it dropped in to neutral. Revs were going up and down but no drive. Had to pull over. turned engine and ignition off and restarted. Was fine after that and has been fine since.

Did anyone get to the bottom of this?

I've had the same issue when I went to pull out at a junction pretty quick - wheels spun and then lost drive. Only had use of 2nd, 4th & 6th which was pretty shite. Turning the car off and on again fixed it though so I'm guessing it just hit the torque limiter and went into a "safe mode".

Possibly what happened with yours?

I'm having this exact problem. Car lost all drive and has been sat in the dealer for nearly 2 weeks. I've contacted Seat UK and have been fighting for them to pay for the repair! £1560 bill I believe I should not have to pay.
Mechatronic unit suffered an internal short circuit which is the exact reason the oil change recall was issued for. I've been trying to get Seat UK to admit there is a fault. This has the potential to be a very serious issue and someone has actually died in Australia due to this.

Has SEAT issued this recall in other parts of the world? If so maybe you can use that as leverage.
