Can anyone tell meif the DSG box has a sport mode and are you able to go to manual mode?
Thanks.

Yep, there is a sport mode, but to be honest I've found that it seems to accelerate faster in normal "drive". You can also change up and down manually, although the auto will overide this if you are not changing as quick as it wants.

found an old post but have a question and couldnt find the answer yet...

When driving round in auto mode is it fine to just change the car to Sport mode without coming to a halt or switching off the engine etc? Coming from a manual it feels very strange that the different settings can be engaged when rolling.

Cheers!

Its fine. You can shift into S by just holding down the button on the gearlever. It is very simple to use.

You can shift and do whatever you like when you like with the DSG - quite often I will be in D and will manually drop a gear on th paddles when on windy lanes for example, when out of them I let it go back into D or hold down the + to put it back into D.

As for S, drop it in and out when you like really, even use the paddles when in S mode its no issue.

DSG "sports mode". Tends to drop 2 gears and then "Red Lines" it in each gear before changing up :p Good by Sunday Driver or annoying Chav :D Hello a bit of fun :D and a little less  mpg.

Luv it :p

It depends how you drive - what you mean is if your in D and you drop it into S then it will change down into whatever gear to give you optimum power/drive.

Same as if you floor it in D past the throttle pedal kick down - this will also drop 1 or 2 gears depending on you speed and current gear.
