Hi all
Hoping to reach out for some thoughts on an issue, I am hopefully taking the car back to the garage tomorrow...

I just got the DSG serviced today, done at 30k, 61k and now 85k miles - whilst it was up on the ramp, I asked the guy to put the red dogbone mount Insert in. No issues thus far. No issues with the car or noises before it went in.

I drove it home and obviously noticed some vibrations etc with the dogbone insert as expected but I've just gone down the shops (a few hours later) and noticed when I come off the throttle and start to decelerate, there is a rhythmic knocking noise (it can be felt too), when I start to accelerate again, it seems to go away. The car drives as I would expect it to otherwise with no judders or issues...

Ive attached a video my friend took who was with me...

I was just hoping to get some thoughts on what it could be..? Thanks in advance.

Well, it turns out, it wasn't an issue with either of these things...

The garage who did it, checked the wheels on the front, after checking other things and all of the lugnuts had worked loose... causing the wheel to slap... they've tightened them back up.

I had actually been to an alloy refurb place the day prior, so it looks like they didn't torque them properly!

Happy to be alive.

Thanks all

What's the difference between the red and yellow dogbone bush?
I've seen on here a few have changed to the yellow one.

Red is softer and yellow for firmer.
Red is often recommended for diesel engines to minimize increased noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH), while yellow is popular for petrol engines.
Key Considerations for Powerflex Bushings:Red (Diesel/Comfort): Offers a softer compound, suitable for daily drivers who want reduced wheel hop without excessive cabin vibration.Yellow (Petrol/Sport): Firmer than red, this provides tighter, more responsive handling, ideal for spirited driving, but transmits more vibration.

Yeah, red is for diesel, its definitely increased the 'NVH' but completely eliminated the wheel hop and everything feels 'tighter' when shifting up and down.

@nd-photo.nl - I must've had some good karma protection I think! I'm just hoping when I go back to collect my new alloys, they do a proper job this time... will be mentioning it when they refit so hopefully I dont get a torque wrench to the face 😂

In Dutch we have a saying: "trust is good, double checking is better" :giggle:

If they are a proper shop, they will own up to it and do better. If not, then search for a new shop

Im on the fence about this mod, I did the Powerflex yellow and also tried a billet version, but it becomes "a bit clunky" when flooring it

Back in the day my mate went to a very large UK garage chain to fit some lowering springs - and he got home to find all his wheel nuts loose! Haven't been back since!
