there are pick up switches in the gear stick selector box one of them may have packed up or gone out of line probably mean new bit

Had a similar problem with the dash display flashing continually but all gearbox functions OK.
Gear selector module in the centre console had to be changed.
Watch what they damage in the process as centre consule has to come out, my handbrake lever soft feel coating was completely ruined. Dealer rectified OK but just a time consuming nuisance all the same.

I've dusted off this thread as its relevant!

My Dad's 2L TDi DSG has developed this problem with the dash gear selection display flashing continually.

Took it to supplying SEAT dealer who have run a diagnostics check and found nothing! They say the will have to book it in and investigate further!

Is this a common problem therefore should they be aware of it and what cost estimates to fix it?

I'am starting to become alarmed!
