Sure you right but none of this matters till you have to make a warranty claim that's when you find out if they know or not.

It's not a big deal to me as I never worried about warranty as I knew my car would not be covered just the risk you take when modding.

But I am sure the other info will be helpful to the guys on this thread.

Lol well how are they going to know if there are no flags or anything logged? They can’t prove anything can they. How can they say you’ve had a tuning box on that car unless there is any physical evidence or logged electronically. So that’s daft to say really.

As I mentioned earlier, given the the short term fuel trim table will be all over the place with no issues with the car they could make quite the assumption there, I also believe the DSG box logs the inputted torque values, again giving away the car has been producing more power!

I could only imagine this level of analysis would only be required where a full block or similar needs replacing, I believe Seat HQ ask the dealer to take a full dump of the ECU for them to go over before signing off any MAJOR warranty claims!

But as I mentioned earlier, pretty sure there has not been any reported cases of this happening, but, it's possible!
