On the look-out for a DA polisher at the minute. What cut/polish/wax combo and what pads would be recommended for Extreme Blue paint?
The paint is in decent condition at the minute but has the odd wee mark i want to get rid of.

Thats where i'll probably be buying from mate, already have an account with them with a few points built up. Just really need to know what is the best for tackling the extreme blue paint

The DAS 6 seems to be the best value for money anyway. Ive heard nothing but good reports about the 3M polishes. Have you tried them yet?

3M polishes are very good... they do have a use by date on them though which is partly why i havent gone with them before now. i only use my DA polisher a few times a year so the 3M polish would be scrap before i got even half way through the bottle.

i have 3 or 4 Menzerna polishes at the moment, a really heavy, heavy, medium and light cut in 250ml size. these are ideal because you dont buy a big bottle and then not use it. i havent had any problems with the menz range so far and for the price they are good value too.

megs polishes are very good but you'll see most of the pro detailers using 3M or Menz usually. have a look on detailingworld if you havent already and see what results people are getting.

DAS 6 is a good machine. There is a pro version which has more power and offers slightly more cutting power than the regular DA machines. its a half way house from a DA and a rotary.

Didnt know about the use by dates on the 3M, thanks mate. Id only be using it 3-4 times a year so it would be a waste. I take it the Menz gives good results? The people on detailing world seem to get good results no matter what they use and im a noob when it comes to machine polishing!

i have been happy with the results i have had from Menz polishes so far. in really hot weather they can get a little dusty but adding a blob of Lime Prime or something adds more oils and helps a lot.

ultimately the DA machines will remove defects as well as a rotary polisher but they take a lot longer. they are a lot safer though so for a noob its better to start with a DA.

i ran a kestrel da6, then a flex/porter cable xc3401

the flex was a cut about ( no pun intended) the da6, but the da6 is far more forgiving,

kestrel da6, porter-cables da, and megs own make all do the same job,

you'll pick up a kez for £100 and a few mops/ compounds
