yeah i didn't think it sounded that bad. No where near as bad as that golf. Hmmmmmmm you've put me in a predicument now, was all set to get dmf but now seriously considering the smf. Is it easy to drive with throught city centres and in traffic?

Personally i dont see the point in a SMF unless your hoping for around 400lbft.
I just dont see the point if its ok running a hybrid tdi

Especially if the one i have atm is on 71k now and its only a little bit shot because of my gearbox going. 25k on the hybrid.

The only reason i would consider one is to smooth out my shuddering tick over which has been blamed by the rocking action of a DMF. But iam not sure really

thats what mines now doing.

But it is on 71k which Im pretty sure im not going to be having the car for another 71k (like 7years).

I'd rather have a dmf go in another 70k than the POTENTIAL of a bad sounding smf

Its not all about the reliable side.

Its lighter, so it'll pick up faar better than a heavy DMF setup. Im not 100% sure its possible on a DMF, but you can do 2nd gear starts on the 1/4 mile with a SMF which is a massive help.

And ofc, you'll never have to replace it. I dont sit often enough with my clucth up while the cars running to worry about the noise from a SMF, i sit with the clutch i already cos the DMF is rattling its tits off!

But i have known of a mate with a PD150 has his DMF come apart and wiped out his box with it.

dual mass flywheels are usually used on diesels to reduce the rocking motion in the engine so the whole car doesn't shake along with it...will have hardly no gains in power for going single mass, but be warned that when idle the diesel engines shake a lot more than petrols

as above, if you do get a single mass then to dampen the noise and shakes travelling through the chassis from the engine you can have the clutch pressed as this releases the clutch pad from the flywheel...although in traffic you won't like that

depends wat you want the car for! if you going to commuting, travelling and lots of milage i would go for the dual mass! if your going for a track car or if its a second car go for the single in my opinion!

do you really need a SMF for stage 1 or 2 ? I mean is it even worth it ? I really dont want the SMF because I hear there will be a lot of rattle. my DMF is now chattering like crazy, and i am about to go for a new flywheel but i havent decided yet if its the SMF or the DMF, I really like my comfort.

I heard the Light SMF is more quite but where can i get a light SMF ?
And if i really go for the DMF and clutch kit from LUK how long will it last how much miles?

Thanks.
