Hi my Leon cupra has had an after Market atmospheric dump valve fitted, think something is wrong with it when I bought the car there was no hiss from the valve, then later that day I floored it was in fourth gear at around 4000 rpm power died, changed to fit and few seconds later power back on, since then valve hisses but car feels like it's lost power, is this anything to do with the valve? If so I've got a friend at a performance garage can get a stock valve for 25 snots plus vat or an apr for about another 100 quid which would be recommended? Or has anyone got any other ideas of what the problem may be, also got told the forge valves were crap anyone got a second opinion? Many thanks in advance. Joe

Sounds like the Problem could easierly be the dv as they dont like atmosperic valves. Ecu has decided the car has a boost leak and is holding back in limp mode to protect the engine.

Your friend has offered you 2 Recirculating valves, stock or apr r1? Either will work fine.
The forge 007p is fine if you service it every 12 months or like any piston based dv it starts sticking. Its the most popular dv on here by far.

Personally i think the diaphram style is smoother.

Forgive me but I am new to this turbo and dump valve thing! I've only ever drove diesels or non turbo petrol, what sort of difference would I expect to see between the stock and apr valves? Is it worth the extra 100 quid for the apr or forge 007p or would the stock be just as good ? Sorry for being such a noob!

you should feel no difference from either valve. The r1 is more robust in build quality compared to stock but they do the same job equally well. Use the R1 myself.

Stock DV is good fir 500bhp according to a post I red earlier but forge one is better quality ect I have 007p my self ;)

lad round the corner from me has a stock bosch running on a tuned s3 with no probs, but when you put that and the 007p side by side you can see where the extra money is going, build quality of the forge is superb both externally and internally, there certainly not crap lol, and hand in hand with that the customer service from forge is second to none in my opinion. The link sams given you for awesome gti is the cheapest you will find, thats where i got mine from, and you get it engraved with there logo, i went for black cos it looks shexxy ;)

dont forget theres the forge v splitter asell, ALTHOUGH apparently some engines dont like em but mines had one now for 2 weeks and i've had no problems at all with it :)
if ya think this is bad wait til ya get into the site properly lol, fabia wiper, n249 bypass, 3" dp, uprated TIP, airbox or cone? golf armrest, aero wipers, dogbone mount, etc etc lol

enjoy the car mate, im loving mine :)

Yep 007 all the way have tried atmospheric on mine. A d they r ****. Ye as obove the awsome gti is the cheapest 007 u will find. I also have the black 1 :)

I like th look of the R1 I've got my 007 in reverse and quite like the sound al tho it's a marmite thing ;)

it was a well made bit of kit, i only sold it because i bought a 007p without checking the car first.

fitted the 007 out of principle lol
