Just been on passionford and they say turbo chatter is fine..

Only on high spec turbos is it a problem..

if your mate and passionford say its fine then it must be!
cos they know shitloads about 1.8Ts obviously and turbo chargers in general by the sound of it

i would say a vac hose is loose/disconnected or split in your engine
the 007p is meant to be quiet, if you reverse it, it'll make a high pitched 'ping' sound

Chatter aint good for the turbo mate no matter what anyone tells you. And i wouldnt listen to anything the ford owners say cos they aint got real cars lmao

that sounds like a good start, have a quick glance at the ends of the standard vac hoses your still using and make sure they aint split/perished

Its pressure going back through the turbo, trying to spin it in the opposite direction!!!! Well, thats what i think anyway!

theres only 2 ways it can be fitted, the standard way or with the piston reversed i.e the 2 ports swapped around, doesnt make much difference tbh

Could be wastegate chatter not the dv. You would here wastegate chatter through the air filter

it is a open cone air filter...

so its safe to just swap it around and see what it sounds like?

Its definatly wastegate chatter then mate which i dont think anything can be done about that but dont quote me on that tho lol. Definatly need to get it hooked up to vagcom to check why the engine management lights on tho
