Picked this up from Newcastle on Saturday. The sun came out on Sunday so I went out and spent a bit of time cleaning it up. :)

Bodywork needs a good going over. Remove the tar and machine polish some of the marks out but that will have to wait.

Gave it a wash to remove the dirt and then spent some time cleaning the wheels and the tail pipie - which were an absolute nightmare to do. Still needs a bit more but look much much better now. :) Also gave the calipers a quick once over.

Enjoy loon. Shame you never stopped in past Crail for a remap on the way up the road :)

Cheers,

Al - I came up the road Saturday, you guys were at Crail on Sunday otherwise I would have swung in past :( Plus I still need to find out if its already mapped or not. Master Tech was pretty sure its already stage 1, never asked him why he thought that though.

I could log and check the car for you if you want to see if it is mapped as long as I am not abroad.

Nice car fella, wrong colour though :p

Haha, sorry couldn't find a blue one ;)

That would be great if you have the time mate. would be good to catch up too. Not seen you in ages! I'm based in the UK all the time now (they barely let me out the office LOL) so I'm free when you are. :)

Well last weekend I gave the car a quick clean up under the bonnet.
With the wheels and underbonnet now done I will try and give the paintwork a good clean next week while I'm off on holiday. Planning to try and get some paint correction done if I have the time.

I've also decided on a few tweaks on the handling so have a set of H&R springs and an Awesome ALK (oe housings and superpro bushes) I will let the springs settle before deciding if I will add rear spacers.

The looks will change a little as I've ordered a triple r splitter and having the front bumper blade in the middle covered in a strip of gloss black vinyl. I've got a set of darker side repeaters to go on too.
I'm also going to order the aero side skirts and rear mud flaps although I'll probably wait till after winter before the skirts go on.

Maintenance. Going to change oil and filter this weekend (I always do that when I buy a car regarless of history)
I have a new diverter valve to go in (prevention rather than anything else) and I'll have a look at the follower while I'm there.

Also looking at a BCS cat back, just to give a better note than anything. No plan to go beyond stage 1 so no downpipe or cat removal. Plus its a daily driver and I don't want the hassle every year for MOT. Been through that for years with my subaru's LOL

Have you ordered anything other than the splitter yet? If not, don't. I can tell you more about it by PM.

The side skirts and mud flaps are a nice touch as is the splitter. Something that the mk2s sorely need IMO as they look kinda plain without it. The black vinyl part is also a must.

Springs and ALK are on order from Awesome
Splitter is on order from triple r
Indicators are here as is the diverter valve

Nothing else actually ordered yet so still to get oil, filter, follower, side skirts, mud flaps.

Fire me a PM big yin :)

Agreed Eck. I think the car looks way too plain from the side. The skirts give a much better finish and follow the lines of the car too. :)
