Hi all, a quick question. Is anyone out there using the Charging Schedule function in the infotainment system? That's includes the whole "departure time" setup and charging locations. These things are detailed in the manual, but when I couldn't find them, I raised it with my dealer and Seat. The dealer has apparently now been told by Seat that the functionality will be included in a software drop scheduled for 3rd quarter 2025.

I use them to get the cheaper electric rates at night. I used to be able to set them on the app but since the update it no longer works.

I use the departure time on occasion - it seems to work and I can set the app to charge during cheap rate hours overnight. I remember reading somewhere that there would be a software change so thanks for the update. At the moment the app mentions "routines" that you can change, but there is no option to change them - I presumed this was what was meant by charging schedule.
I’ve just purchase a new Seat Leon FR hybrid sport. The car itself is great, Love it to bits, however as per discussions above I’ve downloaded the app and tried to sort out the schedule. As all have said, the location is not there and the facility to click on a schedule is also not there. I’ve emailed the garage in Wrexham where I got the car. All the videos on utube etc shows the app with schedules so I think we have the old app to start with, but I’ve been to their store but you have to pay for the software, to be honest it doesn’t show you much so it may not be correct with what we want. I will contact the garage tomorrow to catch up
To be honest having to wait until Q3 2025 is quite appalling really. As the manufacturer they should have the scheduling in place. It seems the scheduling was in the previous app, and for reasons unknown it’s not in the latest. i went into the App Store and found an app called ev energy. This syncs with the seat app and has a scheduling part. i Need to have a play to see if it is suitabl. Would like any feedback
I'm still talking to Seat about this. It's not just irritating, it costs me money every time I charge the car. I've asked for compensation, but they are now saying they won't do anything until the problem has been fixed by the Q3 software drop. I'd suggest you do the same.
I honestly think the software to be updated in Q3 is Bull ****. I’m on to 2 seat garages and gave them the problem. Trouble is you’re talking to people with respect who don’t have the information and some not really technical to have the discussion with. When they come back I will update
Anyone using Octopus Intelligent Go with the bewer larger PHEV battery? When I try it says incompatible (with a 3 pin plug charger) so I have to pretend I have the smaller battery. Consequently, when I ask it to charge to 80% it frequently falls short of this target as it thinks it will only take X hours to get to that point whereas it will take longer. Ang tips to overcome this issue whilst CUPRA get their act together with scheduling?
I spoke to Seat (through my dealer) on 1st July, i.e. the first day of the 3rd quarter. I didn't expect the software to be ready, and surprise surprise, it wasn't. But at least they were reminded that I'm still chasing them. When pushed, "the workshop thought it was due in September". I'll be ringing them again....
I don't know to be honest, and I don't have Intelligent Go, but I do find that Octopus can be fairly helpful if you email them, as it sounds like something they need to sort out in their systems.
Email queries don't always get a quick response but my impression from past queries is that emails can eventually get to someone sufficiently technical to dive into that sort of problem.
Interestingly Octopus's Electroverse website does seem to recognise the 1.5 hybrid.
A quick one re the overnight/delayed charging situation (Golf e-hybrid but same as SEAT/Cupra of course):
I had a new Ohme home pro installed on Wednesday. Scheduled the first charge for overnight. Plugged in. After a while, the car charge light went red and stayed red... Having read the issues about 12v battery draining on a Tiguan forum, I cancelled and started again. I followed the advice helpfully provided on the forum to plug in, set the charge to max, lock the car, then switch to smart mode on the Ohme app. Light went solid white and then went off. Wall box said (correctly) car power is zero, target 80% and charge time to start at 00:01 and probable end 03:15. All seems to have worked OK - charging started midnight and ended at 80% around 03:15. No further lights on car charge port after that.
An annoying work-around to have to do, but at least it seems to be a workable option.

I have to admit that with my wall box (Zappi) and my SEAT Leon, the car is showing red when I plug it in for an overnight charge- not straight away but after a while, once the car realises it's not getting a charge from the Zappi (which is timed to wait until I get a cheaper rate) the light on the car goes red. I've just been leaving it to charge, which it does do once the Zappi fires up. What is the 12V battery issue?
What does the option to "set the charge to max" do/look like on a Golf? While the Golf's hardware will be similar to a Leon, I imagine the infotainment software looks different. Also what is the Ohme's smart mode?
Also - I only get a max charging rate of around 4.5kW from an AC charge like this- do you know what your Golf's charging rate is?
I know my Zappi can deliver 7kW, and also the Leons with the 1.5 engine should be able to take 11kW according to the brochure (plus one of the devices under the bonnet is even labelled with a sticker which says 11kW). I've been assuming this is also a software issue so hoping it will improve with some future update. But it would be interesting to know if the slow charging rate impacts Golfs as well?
Well, I'm certainly no expert. But i had read a lot on golf and tiguan forums about the steady red light appearing when the car is waiting for scheduled charging to start, and this correlating to flat batteries. There are too many reports of this for me to feel comfortable testing it and calling out VW rescue in the morning or having my alarm go off! I guess the issue potentially arises when the delay (hence red light and, presumably, 12v battery drain) is lengthy.
Set to max is an option that appears on my Ohme app when I plug in. Basically, it's just asking the charger to override any schedule and charge the car fully. When I do this, it then offers an option to switch to Smart mode - which picks up the off-peak schedule that I have set. Toggling it like this then turns off the charger so that no lights appear on the car's charge port after a minute or two, which I understand is how things should be when dormant, until charging starts at midnight. I'd set the golf's charge limit to 80% on the infotainment screen, and also on the Ohme app. I don't think there is anything else I can do via the infotainment screen - at least, until the long-awaited software "fix" to add scheduling becomes available.

Ah I see - so you set the charger to go for a little while, so the car gets a little power, then back it off to wait until off-peak.
Hmmm - maybe I should worry about that red light then...
I had my Zappi fitted with some solar panels, and the Zappi has a feature where it can charge if there is spare solar power that would otherwise be exported. Not always the cheapest way based on the tariff I have, but I will sometimes do it if it's a sunny day and I want to max out the battery to 100% and then drive off soon afterwards (as I don't like to leave the battery at 100% for long periods).
But if I'm charging from solar, this does mean the car stops and starts charging based on eg when a cloud goes past. I will have to note more carefully if the charger goes red having had a short period of charge; but my bet would be that it does go red.
Thanks for the info on charge rate. Mine is consistently 4.5kW and I also had the same charging rate at a public AC charger (probably more expensive than petrol but I wanted to experiment with it), so I don't think it's a fault in my Zappi.
Perhaps that slow 4.5kW charge rate is more specific to my car (or perhaps all SEAT/Cupras) then...? It's a pain as while I have an off-peak electricity tariff at home, it's not enough hours at 4.5kW to fill the battery again after a long run where I've gone down to 0%.
