Yep Ruddmeister is correct.

E-Maps are not Custom Custom. They can tailor how aggressive you want it via boost etc but they are all a match really.

I have been over the moon with my E-Maps map and there service is excellent too.

But you have APR, STAR, REVO, JABBA, AMD and E-Maps to choose from.

Forgot to ask.............. did you try any of the free trials (REVO, APR) before getting yours E-Map'd...? Just curious if you noticed much difference at all..?

I have had the REVO trial and was very impressed with it, but is still a tad expensive for me at the moment, and the E-Maps price is very tempting. Are they similar..?

Do APR do a trial map????

I have just finished my REVO, it was good and I enjoyed it alot.I thought power delivery was quite good, torque steered a bit tho.

I too am still thinking of EMaps as good price and is near to where i live.

Yeah they do, think its a 6 hour one too.

Friend of mine (Turbobanana on here) has his LCR APR'd and was very similar to the REVO, wasn't as harsh bottom end, but didn't tail off as quick as the REVO, which I think is the general opinion of the two maps.

Yeah that is one thing I felt with the REVO tbh, did die off a little earlier than would have liked.

I just want to make sure the one I pay for is the one Im happy with.

I wasn't really interested in the SPS, but when had trial from ALDON AUTOMOTIVE I looked into them and the SPS 3 is a great peice of kit i think.

It puts everything in your control (upto a point) but that may not be a good thing

May look into the APR soon then. thanks guys

No I didn't have any 'Free Trials' from the other companies.

However make sure you advise E-Maps that you have had the trials if you book as they will need to know.

When the free trials are over I believe they do NOT revert back to the SEAT map, its a standard REVO / APR map.

16486 P0102 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circ Low Input
18010 P1602 Power Supply (B+) Terminal 30 Low Voltage

We know MAF's have issues full stop and also can read low etc, Go to BBT see what they think.....to me it sounds very possible that it's not failed completely but failed as in it's reading low.

If you have VAG COM have you logged what the MAF is reading G/s? think it's Group A: 003 - don't have VAG COM myself?

think i am going to go for a e-map as i dont wont to switch it on or off plus i am a tight git lol:D :D and £299:drool: sounds a lot better than £499.
will have to wait untill next mounth now tho.

Funnily enough I asked the exact same question when I got my REVO trial done at ADS in Preston, I asked if when the trial expired, if it reverted back to what was on my car originally, or to a standard REVO mapping, they said, quite categorically, that it reverted back to what was on the car before hand.

But saying that, my car has never run so well after having the trial, either the placebo effect, or its blown some crap out :)

Mine doesnt seem too bad tbh, it does frrl as it did before the map.

It does seem a little slower but that because i got used to the trial i think.

Which ever i do choose I will advise the company o what has been done so all can be wiped before real code put on.(just to be on the safe side)

from what i can remember as it was friends at idle it was reading bout 2.3 or so? belive its 02 for the maf reading to!

No you need to log a 4th gear run really (all the way through the rev range)and should be seeing a G/s value of something around 160 G/s max for a standard car I think.

Or the fact the trial will upset the adaptation of the ECU, the ECU may be a little confused as it's been running more boost etc then all of a sudden things change when it reverts to standard again. Try disconnecting the red battery terminal for 10 mins and reconnect. This wipes the adaptation, give the car a blast straight after (it will probably feel slow) and then the following day it should feel as if it's coming back to back to normal.

Very true, but I'll leave it as it is for now ;)

if only everything was so easy to judge on price

what do u mean i cant c what the diffrance is myself.
it will improve my car whatever i have revo apr.
or do u know somthing i dont about an emap
and price is a big factor in some case.
the fact is i wanted a leon cupra r. and could not quite afford and had to go for a cupra.
:(

just that they're very much an unknown

what's their history of VAG cars, how long have they been doing it, where do the files come from, what experience do the tuners have, when editting the file to 'dumb it down' what are they actually doing, can you adjust it for different fuels, poor weather, dealership trips, security features

this is all stuff to consider, not just whether it'll make the car fast

eg, Revo & APR will have mapped 000's of VW group cars each - how many have emaps done.... what proof of reliability is there

I'm not saying it's a poor product, but the first I read of them was when Si got it done.... and that was their first LCR. can't have been more than 3 months ago.

Your money, your choice, but like I said, there's more to a product than how cheap it is
