Don't bother with Greenstuff/Red Stuff/Yellow stuff unless you will be racing your car on a track. They take a while to warm up before they become to effective.

Look at getting some Mintex pads instead or Brembos :). They are cheaper and more effective for your car.

On a 1.4? I had a 1.4 forumla sport 100bhp and the standard brakes (front and rear disks) are perfectly fine for normal road use imo. I would just stick with the standard stuff and save some cash tbh.

Not for me there not :). The thing with the 1.4 is that the disks should be 288mm to give better control because my ABS always beeps at me going over the slightest bump :(.

I had greenstuff on my last car a 1.2 punto, compared to standard there was a huge difference they just bit so well and stopped me a lot quicker especially from higher speeds!!

Do you really need green stuff for a punto 1.2 lol..

I tried Green stuff once years ago when they came out on my Escort RS2000 and they were rubbish so replaced them with Mintex pads and never had a problem.

We have used EBC pads and discs in most of our cars, from our AX diesel and my old 1.0 Metro (all fitted with Greenstuff), to my dad Scoobie Impreza (Redstuff fitted). I have Greenstuff all round in my Fabia vRS. We have never had a problem with them. A few years ago, during a service, a mechanic found the OEM pads from our other Fabia de-laminating, they were replaced with Mintex pads by the garage. Before we used EBC we insisted on Mintex or Ferrodo. My Father has had bad experiences with cheap unknown pads.

To the OP: I've got a 2008 EBC catalogue, so what engine has the 'dab edition' got and did it come with 256 size discs as standard?

Meh I run Red Stuff and they're brilliant, proper bite, they're warm by the time you've driven down the road for a minute lol I never track my car. I had Mintex before, took them off as I thought they were dangerously poor. As said above, have heard Green Stuff are a bit lightweight, and Yellow is very much track only.

greenstuff... i'd rather use shaped toast for brake pads tbh

Most honest post in this thread.
Google "Greenstuff Disintegrate" and you'll find its a common problem.

Friends on Clio Trophy and Civic Type R's found that after a few jaunts their braking became much worse.
Both took their cars to the garage and upon removal of the caliper both found the pads fell apart in the mechanics hands.

It ruined the discs and the pads.

Ferrodo pads if you want good pads.
Otherwise just use stock pads.
