Hey all,

Random question - I had a Skoda Octavia SE Sport (1.4 MY17) that when you drove over a certain speed, it would display on the dashboard to put your windows up for better economy.

Has anyone seen this on their Leon FR's?

I've seen a few posts where people's windows would also automatically go up at a certain speed to improve economy.

Don’t know about the Leon, but in the five VW’s I’ve owned, I’ve never seen that message. Having said that, I very rarely open the windows (air con switched on 24\7 for me) as I don’t like the noise and buffeting you can get with when driving the windows down.

I may have to break with tradition just once though, just to see if that message is displayed.

I can't remember the exact wording it used and even with my amazing Googling skills, I can't find jack about it.

A gimmick nonetheless ?

Mne fr did show that message. If u drive with windows down or sunroof opened. Can be simply turned off in menu

Yes, I have the same behavior when I'm driving in ECO mode. You can turn off specific Eco driving tips in Module 19, where you can select which messages you do and don't want to see.

On my 2019 300ST the fuel saving tips (windows are open when above certain speed, do not depress accelerator while stationary, etc) get less frequent over time by design.
