Yeah i will do, the standard hole is roughly 25mm, the new one is only 9mm at stock but it has to be bored out to around 13-14mm to keep the lights off, thats nearly a 50% reduction in size, so yeah the maths say it should help out abit.
 
yeah the reduction in size shows it must make some sort of difference. should hopefully be a worthwhile mod.
 
the gasket is £1.50 plus £1 postage from sere motors, im going to order one now i think.

part number is 028 131 547 B if you need it.

Yeah i let you know how it goes, ive spent a couple hours reading up about it today, most reckon that mpg will increase slighty and a small gain in power and responsiveness, so for £2.50 you can't argue really.

well bored the gasket out today, then to find that the postition of the the valve is completely different to the pics ive seen, so couldnt get to it. So i would check yours before doing it.
 
If the light comes on does it have to be mapped out or is there a way to reset it.

Say if I just fitted it like Jimski did then found it needed to be bored ou,. once bored out enough would the light cancel?

I think there is some confusion here, granted mine is the BLT engine, but other engines will obviously benefit from the 'fix' issued by skoda.

Original gasket is 25mm, new gasket is 9mm (holes), the 9mm does not need to be re-drilled and can simply be fitted.

I have the 9mm fitted to reduce the 'hesitation', i have no dash lights, or problems.

As above, fitted 9mm gasket to mine, car is smoother low down down and seems more drivable. No dash lights here at all and my car was exactly as per the guide on briskoda (BLT engine)
 
has anyone fitted the allard pipe because i got one abit ago but have never got round to fitting it?
 
ok, my mates had a go at fitting it for me but they had trouble taking one of the alan key screws out. they got two out fine but the third was underneath the pipe they was trying to take off. sorry if this seems a little vague but a dont no what the pipes are called
 
Might just be better to suck the mop and get it booked in with a VAG Specialist like AwesomeGTI if your not happy with having a bash yourself.

Probs just an hours labour, im not aware of any guides for the fitting of it, but shouldnt be too complicated.
