Just wanted to pop a quick review of the Eibach springs recently fitted to my Leon Xcellence.
I originally had wanted a Leon FR when it came to replacing my 2013 Leon SE, however long lead times for the extras I wanted plus a really good deal on the in stock Xcellence model means a deal was done.
Despite the facelift and increase from 16” to 17” rims from my previous SE I wasn’t that happy with the handling or the large arch gap which seemed worse than my SE and also similar Golfs etc, therefore lowering springs seemed the way to go. I’d had Eibach’s before on a Fabia and Octavia so purchase was made.
Since fitting not only do I feel the car looks better but the handling is much improved with little or no body roll during cornering and less dive when braking. Ride comfort is scarified a little but only noticeable on really rutted roads, motorways etc are just as comfortable. When sitting in the car it feels lower and sportier as well, and I’d certainly recommend the upgrade if you prefer a sportier drive, even if you have an FR with the sports suspension I think these are an improvement.
Current tyres are Bridgestone which I feel are a bit rubbish, soon wear them out and get some Pilot Sport 4 which should make things even better.
